  • Makuahine (mother) Method is a 9 week training & 9 month cohort aimed towards providing the detailed education and mentorship postpartum doulas require to support mothers effectively after-birth. It is taught through the understanding of cross-cultural indigenous postpartum practices, modern science, and evidence based modalities. This training will be facilitated online via zoom.

  • The training will be a series of live lectures, active participation, assignments, and exams during a 9 week period. During hands-on days, a model may be needed for your personal practice.

  • Cohorts are a way of bringing your postpartum doula practice to life. Our student base is made up of a variety of experienced working doulas and inexperienced first-timers. Each cohort has a monthly topic and sharing segment where students will get to talk about work/client experiences in order to receive guidance & constructive feedback from instructors and peers. During the guest speaker months, clients will be able to engage in open Q&A with practitioners on advanced topics. It will also be a supportive tool for working doulas to engage in a positive environment that helps them emotionally throughout their birthworking journey, especially when they first start off after the completion of the training.
